Moses H. Cone Memorial Park sits on the land where the estate of the man for whom the park is named once lived. The land that is now run by the National Park Service is the same tract that Moses Cone purchased and lived on in his 3,516-acre estate that included both Flat Top Mountain and Rich Mountain. Today, guests can visit Cone's early 20th century home, Flat Top Manor, where information about the park and the Parkway Craft Center reside. Outside this historic home, some 25 miles of hiking and horseback riding trails are open to guests as well as a large lake that is stocked with bass. The park is reachable off of the Blue Ridge Parkway, contained between mileposts 292 and 295, adjacent to Julian Price Memorial Park.
